Revit Families: A Step-by-Step Introduction

The article by Paul Aubin gives a clear introduction to the concepts behind families. The description of the various types of families was helpful as well as the diagram of the different types of elements in Revit. When it began the section that was more of a tutorial on family creation, it became hard to follow because there were no images of the screen or menus. I have found that video tutorials that show what to do while there is voice commentary are the most helpful. The family editor has almost infinite potential, but it is very intimidating. I can tell that we are only using a tiny fraction of its capabilities.
